The PADI Divemaster

Now we’re talking! This course builds onto the previous courses and goes that extra step, prepares you to have a leadership role within diving! It has five main goals:

- Exemplary dive skills - so they can be used to demonstrate to student divers
- Professional level knowledge of dive theory - Expand your dive theory to a professional level: Physics, Physiology, Equipment, decompression theory and General skills and the environment
- Rescue Skills - expanding and sharpening your Rescue skills to a role model level
- Competence as a certified assistant - helping out with instructors conducting training courses is just one of the roles a DM takes on
- Dive management and supervision - gives you the skills and confidence to supervise certified divers and manage differing diving situations.
|

The course also addresses attitudes and judgment. Attitudes are emotional influences that shape individuals choices ranging from professional behavior, role modeling, personal health and following safe diving practices, to very basic values, such as honesty. Judgment applies attitudes, experience, theoretical knowledge, deduction and intuition to problem solving and making decisions based on variables, sometimes under circumstances that aren’t "black or white".
